On the 3rd of March the Te Arawa Whare Waka opening was marked with a karakia and blessing. It marked the return of the Te Arawa Waka after 5 years of temporary relocation during the lakefront’s redevelopment. DCA collaborated with master carver and artist Lyonel Grant on the Whare Waka.

Te Rito o Manaaki Ora
The new Manaaki Ora office building is deep in meaning for the people of Te Arawa and expresses this uniqueness. The exterior solar fins represent the sails of the Waka and eight beating hearts of Te Arawa. The internal arrangement explores a concept of vertical Marae.

DCA Architects recently completed the QE Health and Wellness centre located in Rotorua. The facility uses a holistic health approach to healing, and uses HOT and STEAMY geothermal waters for treatments.
