Okawa Bay House

This was an extensive renovation of an old lakeside holiday home on the southern bay of Lake Rotoiti. Another floor level and raised car-deck were added to the existing four split levels cascading down the hillside. The multiple claddings and materials appear like a patchwork, further disguising the old and new portions of the build. A cantilevered external entertaining space is fully operable with opening roof louvers, shutters, and folding doors. This external deck space with the ability to become fully enclosed takes maximum advantage of all seasons extension of the living spaces which face the views and lake.
